Rules
1) All music must be original. We at NuSound
are seeking brand new talent and fresh voices within the music world. That
means no to remixes, adaptations or covers, but yes to brand new original,
never heard before music. We are here to entertain our audience.
2) No swearing! Also no ‘hate’ lyrics. That means no racism, sexism,
homophobia, ageism or lyrics that insult other people’s personal beliefs or
that promote a political/religious cause. Use your common sense. Remember, kids
could be listening. So is Ofcom.
3) The music can be from any genre. Although we broadcast mainly South Asian
songs, we want to hear original talent across all styles of music. From world
music to garageband, we want to hear authentic talent. Do not limit yourself to
Bollywood, but go beyond. Rock, Pop, R&B, Latin, Salsa, Arabic, Latin,
African, East Asian, Knives, Forks and Spoons - we want it all!
4) The music that we want to hear are not just limited to songs and the sung
word. We also want to hear compositions used in independent films. Any
compositions that have appeared in short films or lo-budget features, then hey,
that’s what we love. All music, all the time!
5) Pretty obvious, but we need to be able to play your tune. Send us an mp3
submission via e-mail. But we need to be able to play it on air, should we
decide to broadcast it. So make sure you can give us a playable CD. Also (very
importantly) make sure the CD is of a quality which allows it to be broadcast.
We don’t need studio quality surround sound, but just make sure there are no
barking dogs or sirens that can be picked up in the background (unless, that is
part of the song).
6) Okay, this is a biggie. No show then no play. We do not just want to play
your tune, but we want to interview you. To find out a little about the music
you composed and/or performed and a little about where you want to go. The
audience wants to hear the person behind the song. This is what makes our new
music show different. It is also a great platform for you to promote yourself.
If you do not turn up, then we will not play your tune.
7) Turn up on time. This means you do not rush into our studio one minute
before you are scheduled to broadcast. And do not turn up late. Again, we
simply will not broadcast your tune and you will have to resubmit. This is a
twenty-four hour operation and we will not stop for one person. Your slot will
be every Sunday during the ‘Movies and Music’ show just after 6pm.
8) Send them in now! Just e-mail us at nutalent@nusoundradio.com
Send us an mp3 and tell us a little about yourself and leave us some contact
details where you can be reached.
